Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital hosts free heart fair Feb. 27

DOWNERS GROVE - Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital will host a free heart fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.

The following screenings, tests and education sessions will be offered free of charge:

• Diabetes and cholesterol screenings

• Cholesterol consultations

• Blood pressure checks

• Asthma screening

• Nutrition and diabetes education.

Registration is required for the two-step testing process with individual test results reviewed by a registered nurse. To register, call 1-800-3-ADVOCATE.

In addition, question and answer forums with Good Samaritan Hospital cardiologists will be held throughout the day at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Throughout the day, tours of the new Feldman Pavilion and the cardiac catheterization laboratories will be held along with hands-on demonstrations of how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED).

Participants can also sign-up for a variety of giveaways, including a chance to win a cardiac calcium screening. Refreshments will be available.
