Balanced approach helps St. Viator prevail at Conant

St. Viator's girls basketball team used balanced scoring to post a 45-38 nonconference victory at Conant on Monday night in Hoffman Estates.

Leading the offense for the Lions (15-12) were Olivia Solimene (11 points), Myia Clark (11), Maggie Leazer (8), Jenna Breslin (7) and Michaela Mueller (6). Julia Bergstrom tossed in a bucket in the sceodn quarter as Viator led 23-12 at the break.

Jorie Wachal had another big scoring game for the Cougars (9-17).

The junior guard tossed home a game-high 28 points, collecting 9 field goals (two from 3-point range) and making 8 of 10 free throws.

Also making the scoring column for the hosts were Michelle Benson (6 points) and Brit Laskero (4).
