3 teens arrested after pursuit in stolen vehicle in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say three teenagers were arrested after leading Winnebago County deputies on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

The Rockford Register Star (http://bit.ly/20jKRG9 ) reports that Winnebago County Sheriff's deputies pursued the teens after the vehicle they were riding in ran a stop sign around 11 p.m. Saturday in Rockford. The teens eventually exited the vehicle, fled on foot and were arrested.

Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana says the teens are "strongly suspected" to be members of the "Get Money Team." Officials say the gang is made up of about 30 to 35 juveniles and is believed to be behind a series of armed robberies in Rockford.

Caruana says one of the teens admitted to being involved in 21 armed robberies.

The teens are being held at the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center.
