Cloud Gate. I've 'bean' around the block enough times to know there are many photos of our favorite bean. I don't want to be a 'has bean' with another photo, but the cool, crisp afternoon of a couple of winters ago offered a great, reflecting shot of our beloved legume. In particular, I liked the way the sun highlighted the Aon Center and Prudential Building. To me, Cloud Gate does not just reflect our cityscape, but also reflects the character of the Chicagoland people - tall, upright, sturdy and able to shoulder all that our big city offers. Cloud Gate and Chicago, they were meant to 'bean.' Tony Lyons of Wheaton
This photo was taken last October while taking sunset pictures at Crystal Lake in Wisconsin. I noticed a Great Blue Heron approaching slowly from my right just above the water. I quickly reset my camera to stop action and took the shot hopeful that I could capture the whole scene. I was very excited when I realized "I got the shot" not only because I caught the Heron & it's reflection but the most wonderful, beautiful, multi colorful, Wisconsin fall sunset, that over many years of watching sunsets, I've ever seen! Jim Shoger of Naperville
I took this photo with an iPhone 5s while on the bridge's bike path. I thought the bolts conveyed strength, while the cables added grace. A mottled sky formed the background. Taking the photo in black and white sharpened the contrast. Martin D. Tasch of Lisle
