Facade improvements continue on the future home of Uncle Julio's Mexican restaurant in Vernon Hills.
The work is part of the renovation of the former Weiss Office Building. The two-story 55,000-square-foot building is on the northwest corner of routes 60 and 21 near Westfield Hawthorn mall.
Uncle Julio's Mexican restaurant, which is noted for its made-from-scratch items, will be the anchor business. The Texas-based chain has restaurants in several states, including operating since 1993 on North Avenue in Chicago, as well as in Lombard, Orland Park, Skokie and Naperville.
