College of Lake County to host Thai-American author reading

College of Lake County will host a Thai-American author for a free reading at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17. Ira Sukrungruang will read from his work and answer audience questions in a CLC Reading Series event in Room C003 at the flagship Grayslake campus, 19351 West Washington St. He will also conduct a workshop for writers from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in Room T347. Sukrungruang is the author of two memoirs: "Southside Buddhist," which won the 2015 American Book Award, and "Talk Thai: The Adventures of Buddhist Boy." He has other works as well. Sukrungruang is an associate professor of creative writing at the University of South Florida.
