Geneva schools to host kindergarten admissions event

There will be a districtwide admissions event for Geneva Unit District 304's kindergarten program from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, at each of Geneva's elementary schools. Appointments are not needed for this event.

State law requires that children must be 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2016, to be eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2016-17 school year. In addition to the completed admissions paperwork, families must provide an original birth certificate or certified copy, two documents confirming residency in Geneva, and a parent or guardian's photo I.D.

Admissions paperwork can be downloaded from www.geneva304.org and completed in advance.

The district encourages all parents to attend this admissions event as it helps to better plan for space and staffing needs. If you are unable to attend the districtwide kindergarten admissions event, contact the central administration offices at (630) 463-3000 after March 1, but as soon as possible, to schedule an appointment to enroll your child.

To determine which elementary school your child will attend, check out the district boundary maps at www.geneva304.org/boundaries.aspx.
