Campton United achieves prestigious U.S. Soccer Development Academy membership

Campton United Soccer Club recently accepted an invitation to become a member of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy for the 2016-17 year. In its first year, the club will be fielding a team in the under-12 age division for players from the 2004 birth year.

The Development Academy is the top league in the United States with a primary focus on individual player development. The Development Academy philosophies center around providing more training, higher-level training, less games with more meaningful games with a proper rest ratio. The Development Academy program provides education, resources, and support to impact everyday club environments to provide world class players.

In order for Campton United to become a member of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, Campton United met seven criteria within the club, including player development effectiveness; staff leadership, structure, and qualifications; style of play and philosophy; training environment and personal development; facilities and infrastructure; respect; and resources.

Campton United's Technical Director, Chad Flanders, said "Everything our club has been working toward in the last four years has been to prepare and align ourselves with the values of the Development Academy. We have worked to improve our staff, our curriculum, and our facilities, in order to impact our players every day. Campton United is extremely humbled and excited to be given an opportunity to become a member in this exclusive league."

Campton United is the only soccer club in the Fox Valley area to achieve this prestigious membership.
