MainStreet Libertyville to host 'Let's Wine About Winter'

Participating downtown Libertyville businesses invite the public to their 10th annual wine tasting event from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

Spend a wintry afternoon browsing the stores, experiencing the restaurants and enjoying the company of other wine lovers.

A $30 ticket includes a commemorative wineglass, a $10 merchant coupon redeemable at Let's Wine About Winter participating merchants, valid through April 30, wine tasting at more than 30 merchants, a shopping bag filled with coupons from event sponsors, and a day of shopping.

Wineglasses can be purchased online at www.mainstreetlibertyville.org/lwaw. Quantities are limited and are expected to sell out. No ticket sales will be available the day of the event. Tickets are nonrefundable.

The distribution sites for glass pick up are Mischief's Brewing, 725 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Curtis Frame/Back Alley Gallery, 543 N. Milwaukee Ave.; Petranek's Pharmacy, 426 N. Milwaukee Ave.; and Christine Anne Couture, 324 N. Milwaukee Ave.

A select amount of tickets will be available online for each of these locations until sold out. A map with a listing of merchants and event sponsors will be available on the day of the event. Participating stores and restaurants will display a Let's Wine About Winter sign in their windows.

"What better way to brush off the winter blues than wine, food and shopping with friends?" Let's Wine About Winter Co-chair Maureen Hunt said.

"We love this event because each year we see old friends and meet new neighbors out enjoying the wonderful shops and restaurants that downtown Libertyville has to offer. A great time is had by all."

Free parking is available at the covered parking garage on Lake Street and at various downtown locations. The Metra station is also in the heart of the downtown, a short walk to participating stores and restaurants.

MainStreet Libertyville thanks all event sponsors, especially the Genesee Theatre and Zengeler's Cleaners. For a list of supporting sponsors and participating downtown businesses, visit www.mainstreetlibertyville.org/lwaw.
