Teen pleads guilty to spitting on Barrington officer

A former Barrington teen who authorities say spat upon a police officer in July pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and was sentenced to 280 days in jail and 30 months of probation, court records show.

Additionally, Tyler Bosworth, 18, was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation and pay $384 in fines.

Prosecutors said Bosworth trespassed on a family member's property on the 400 block of Russell Street in Barrington, then spat on the officer twice as the officer arrested him.

Bosworth was charged in September with disorderly conduct after, Lake County prosecutors say, he used a social media platform to threaten to kill students at Barrington High School.

Lake County court records show Bosworth pleaded guilty to that charge in December and was sentenced to 112 days in jail and 30 months probation.

He was also ordered to perform 75 hours of community service, according to court records.
