Hanover Township coat drive to help spread the warmth

Hanover Township is asking for the community's help for its annual winter coat drive.

Winter coats and other winter wear of all sizes, adult and youth, are being collected at all township locations. Supplies will be distributed at the food pantry to low-income families that do not have and cannot afford winter wear.

"Many individuals and families probably have an extra coat or set pair of gloves that a person in need can use during the winter season," said Hanover Township Supervisor, Brian P. McGuire. "This would be an easy opportunity for those with more to help our most vulnerable residents."

Coats and other winter garments can be dropped off at: the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., Hanover Park; Town Hall, 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett; Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett; and the Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St., Elgin.

For questions or additional information, please contact the Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center at (630) 540-9085.
