Palatine ICompete Wine Tasting fundraiser Thursday

The fifth annual ICompete Wine Tasting Fundraiser for programs that benefit youth in the Palatine community will take place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at JL's Pizza and Sports Bar, 19 N. Bothwell St., Palatine.

ICompete is a collaborative partnership between the Palatine Park District, Partners for Our Community (POC), Palatine High School, Palatine Township Elementary District 15, the Palatine Police Department, and Palatine Township. It offers a variety of programs designed to offer academic assistance or exposure to new opportunities, and programs are designed to be free or affordable to families.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at door, and include wine tasting, pizza, salad and mostaccioli. The event, for those 21 and older, also will include a cork pull, raffle prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a special drawing for a Blackhawks jersey and Cubs tickets.
