Music notes: Homesafe, InsideOut rock the Beat Kitchen

Homesafe at Beat Kitchen

Oak Lawn rock band Homesafe has only been playing together since 2014, but the trio - Ryan Rumchaks, Tyler Albertson and Emanuel Duran - has managed to strike a balance between frenetic punk and polished rock. They're teaming with high-energy Schaumburg pop rockers InsideOut; Nice Things, a solid alternative band with shades of Chicago's indie sound; and Cary pop-punk foursome Coastlines to blow the doors off Beat Kitchen. 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Beat Kitchen, 2100 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago. $8. (773) 281-4444 or beatkitchen.com.

Local H at H.O.M.E.

Local H, one of the forerunners of Chicago's big break onto the alternative rock scene in the '90s, has been celebrating 25 years since its first live show with a slew of energetic performances. They'll be visiting H.O.M.E. Bar in Arlington Heights along with groove rockers Bubbles Erotica and Lake County alternative rock band Greywall. 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at H.O.M.E. Bar, 1227 N. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. $7 in advance. (847) 577-4663 or homebarchicago.com.
