  Ice forms on a dark rock in the Fox River in South Elgin as water rushes past. I used a long lens and a slow shutter speed, which gave the photo a surrealistic feel. I used a 300mm lens with a 1.4 teleconverter on a digital Nikon, and exposure settings of ISO 100, F 14, 1/15th of a second shutter speed.
