Waukegan offers amnesty for unpaid tickets

The city of Waukegan is giving out second chances to anyone facing the boot or a suspended driver's license due to unpaid tickets, officials said.

An amnesty program for unpaid parking, compliance or red-light camera tickets will run from Feb. 15 through March 16 and will allow people to pay the original ticket plus a 20 percent administrative fee - a substantial savings for each ticket that has maxed out the penalty and late fee, city officials say.

The amnesty program applies to all tickets issued prior to Jan. 1.

Payments can be made to Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP online at lgbswebpayments.com or by calling (888) 344-2302. Or by visiting the police records and traffic division office on the first floor of city hall, 100 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
