Centegra talks matters of the heart in February

In February, Centegra Health System will offer two free lectures to provide the community opportunities for learning all matters of a healthy heart.

Dr. Asim Zaidi, a board-certified interventional cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care, presents "Capturing Control of Your Blood Vessels" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road. He will explain the signs and symptoms typically experienced with peripheral artery disease. Dr. Zaidi also will discuss how advanced technology and techniques are becoming as effective as traditional surgical bypass options for PAD treatment.

And, for the third consecutive year, Centegra will offer "Wine and Dine Your Heart" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley. Dr. Thomas J. Hinkamp, a board-certified independent cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon on the medical staff of Centegra Health System, will discuss heart attack prevention, screenings, symptoms and healthy lifestyle choices. Enjoy a dinner, wine tasting and a heart-healthy cooking demonstration with Julie Holbrook, Centegra cardiopulmonary and outpatient dietitian. Sample heart-healthy wines and learn why they are considered heart healthy.
