Former Oakton college leader Lee named president emerita

Former Oakton Community College President Margaret B. Lee has been given the distinction of president emerita by the college board of trustees.

Lee, who retired last June after 20 years as president and a total of 30 years at the Des Plaines-based school, was given the title in recognition of her years of service and leadership, officials said in a news release.

The school also recently conferred emeritus status on seven retired faculty.

The designation means they are entitled to have their names listed in a section of the college catalog, to receive tuition waivers for three courses of their choice taken during a calendar year, to access and check out library materials and to have interlibrary loan privileges.
