Palatine Township Trustee McGrane resigns because of planned move

Palatine Township Trustee Kevin McGrane resigned Monday after informing his fellow board members that he is moving out of the township.

"It is with sadness that I announce my resignation from the board effective immediately," McGrane wrote in his resignation letter. "With a growing family, and other personal reasons, my family has decided to move out of Palatine Township. I will miss working with all of the current members of the board, but I leave knowing the township is in good hands."

McGrane was elected in April 2013 and his term will expire in May 2017.

Those interested in filling his term must live in Palatine Township, be a registered Republican and have voted in the 2012 Republican primary. Responsibilities include attending regular township board meetings, committee participation and a willingness to be involved in the overall township function.

For more information, contact Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson at (847) 340-7052. Resumes from those interested in serving on the board will be accepted until noon Feb. 5, and must be submitted by email to SLJohnson@PalatineTownship.com.
