Learn to camp in winter

Two winter camping workshops, one in Palatine, will teach the basics of camping in the cold, including winter weather safety and layering, winter fire building and snow shelter building. The free workshops are 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Camp Reinberg Dining Hall, 1801 N. Quentin Road, Palatine; and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Camp Sullivan, Bunkhouse #2, 14630 Oak Park Ave., Oak Forest.
