Vanishing Ink Tattoo Removal opens in St. Charles
For the past three years, Diane and Mark Gibson have been looking into opening a tattoo removal business.
They did the research and couldn't find any businesses devoted to tattoo removal in the area.
"With nearly one-third of the people with tattoos regretting it, we thought there would be good potential in the business," Diane Gibson said.
In December, the couple opened their laser tattoo removal business - Vanishing Ink Tattoo Removal in St. Charles along the Randall Road corridor.
"It is an individual business and we are very excited to bring it to the Fox Valley area," Diane Gibson said.
At Vanishing Ink, the Gibsons are working closely with area tattoo artists, military recruiters and area residents to achieve quality fades of tattoos or complete tattoo removals, she said.
To ensure their customers would receive the highest quality of service when they opened their business, Mark, who has been an emergency physician for 20 years, and Diane, who was a physician assistant, each underwent education and training to become certified Laser Specialists.
"We are aware that perspectives change. Something what was important to someone at 18 years old may not be as meaningful when they reach 29 years old," Gibson said.
"We have even seen it with our own daughter. Our youngest daughter made a decision of a particular tattoo that meant something personally to her. She changed her mind not long after getting it done and is now is in the process of getting that one tattoo removed.
"Sometimes people want to just change part of an existing tattoo," she said. "We can just fade that portion, so a tattoo artist can apply new art in that area without doing a much bigger cover-up."
Gibson invites anyone thinking of tattoo removal to come check out the new business. She says they will answer any questions future clients may have - such as how painful the process will be, how long it will take for your particular tattoo and costs involved. New old neighbor:
If you're looking for the new Famous Footwear store in Algonquin, you do not need to look very far.
The store moved right next door to its old location in the Woodscreek Shopping Center, 726 S. Randall Road, just to the north of its old location in the same shopping center as Target on the west side of Randall Road.
And just in case you're confused on where the new location is, it has a big sign on its window announcing the new location.
