Raising resilient children

The Hawthorn District 73 PTO invites parents to participate in a dialogue about raising resilient children. Author and speaker Kim Olver will share with parents simple skills and strategies for helping their children successfully make it through the challenging phases of their lives. After that, parents can choose between a discussion on anxiety in children by Patrick McGrath, a clinical psychologist, or the effects of social media on children presented by Lake County Sheriff's Detective Christopher Covelli. The free event is 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Townline School, 810 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills. The event is open to parents of all districts, but pre-registration is required. Visit http://pto.hawthorn73.org/familiesintouch or by call Ms. Falotico at (847)-990-4962 by Friday, Jan. 22. Include the child's name and grade level, parent name(s), and which breakout presentations you will attend.
