No one injured in early morning Naperville fire

No injuries were reported during an early morning fire Friday on the 100 block of Loomis Street in Naperville, officials said.

Homeowners called 911 at 1:17 a.m. saying flames were coming from the roof of the residence, officials said. Firefighters arrived and discovered black smoke in the attic.

Officials said the "stubborn" attic fire was extinguished in 40 minutes. The family safely exited the home and neighbors took children in while firefighters put out the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, officials said. The home is uninhabitable.

Firefighters from Downers Grove, Wheaton and Plainfield assisted.
