Two found dead in Bloomingdale home

Two people were found dead in Bloomingdale Friday evening, but police say there's no threat to the community.

Police were called just after 5 p.m. to the 300 block of Norton Lane for reports of gunshots fired, Bloomingdale Police Chief Frank Giammarese said in a release.

Upon arriving at the home, police found two people dead, he said. Police characterized the crime scene as contained and said there's no imminent danger to the community.

A neighbor, who did not know the victims, said he was first alerted to trouble in the neighborhood via the village's emergency alert system. Police remained on the scene at 9:30 p.m.

ABC 7 Chicago reported that a neighbor said a woman was heard screaming before the two people were found dead.

The deaths remain under investigation. Anyone with any information should contact Bloomingdale police.
