Brides-to-be pampered at Mundelein fair

Future brides and their friends were greeted with mimosas, roses and petite sandwiches Sunday in Mundelein for the sixth annual Lake County Bridal Fair.

More than 70 vendors from Lake, Kenosha, and McHenry counties were available to help plan dream weddings.

"This show here is based around Lake County vendors and Lake County brides," said show producer David Woll. "There is a ton of things to plan and (brides) have to make a lot of different decisions. This is a great way for them to gather information all in one place and they can streamline their planning."

More than 750 people, including 225 brides-to-be, were expected to attend the fair at the Double Tree by Hilton. Highlights included a bridal fashion show and ballroom dance demonstration.

"It's a little overwhelming but a it's a lot of fun," future bride Johanna Beller of Wauconda said of the planning process Sunday as she sipped mimosas with her friends. "We just started with seeing all of the dresses, the flowers, the adventures and all the things that make weddings fun."
