The Art Center-Highland Park Hosts 'In-View' Opening Night Reception And Art Is Alive In Highland Park Awards Ceremony

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (JANUARY 8, 2016) - The Art Center - Highland Park (TAC) invites the public to a special opening night reception of its annual 'In-View Member and Faculty Exhibition' and awards, and Art is Alive in Highland Park recognition ceremony on Friday, January 8th from 6:30-9pm.

This opening night of the 'In-View' annual art exhibition will showcase the artistic talents and works of the TAC community. It will feature more than 70 original works of students, emerging and professional artists from TAC members and faculty. A wide range of artistic experience and media has meant an exuberant and unique show each year. The exhibition will run through January 28th. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

"In-View is a great opportunity for The Art Center - Highland Park to showcase its wonderful works from within," says Gabrielle Rousso, Executive Director. "It is a such an exhilarating experience for our members and faculty to take pride in the fabulous talent that surrounds them."

"Art is Alive in Highland Park" is a juried community art contest open to non-professional artists in four categories, elementary school, middle school, high school and adults that live in Highland Park. Sponsored by The Highland Park Cultural Arts Commission and The Art Center - Highland Park, Mayor Rotering will present awards in each of the four 'Art is Alive" categories at 7pm.

Guests are also invited to tour the new state-of-the-art printmaking studios and walk the 'red carpet' to The Art Center's now open TAC Studios. The facility, located just across the driveway in the Highland Park Community House on the second floor, is home to the TAC mosaic studio, as well as private artists studios. Take a studio walk with some of the artists that will make TAC Studios their home and enjoy coffee, sweet treats and a new monthly Recycled artwork sneak peek.

Winter classes resume beginning January 11th. New class offerings include a variety of printmaking techniques, Adult Beginning Ceramics (At a Leisurely Pace), Partners in Creativity: A Class for those with Memory Challenges and Personal Development in Photography with new faculty member, Gina Grillo, of the Chicago Tribune.
