Friendship Village of Schaumburg celebrates Star Wars

Well before the release of the latest Star Wars blockbuster film, residents of Friendship Village honored the iconic movie series.

On Dec. 8, the community held an all day celebration of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in a themed event observed in virtually every department. Dining services prepared Princess Leia cinnamon buns and Yoda yogurt. The fitness staff taught Jedi moves for strength and balance. A spiritual team led a discussion about the spiritual journey of the force, and Star Wars movies were screened. A Star Wars caricature artist drew residents, actors in costume visited, Chicago area's Zazz quartet performed "May The Force Be With You," and more.
