Schaumburg parks to offer Winter Fest Jan. 16-17

The Schaumburg Park District aims to show off a different side of the great outdoors with its Winter Fest from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 and Sunday, Jan. 17, at Spring Valley Nature Center.

Participants will enjoy snowshoe walks through the prairie; horse-drawn wagon rides throughout the grounds; winter snacks, crafts and activities inside the nature center; and marshmallows roasted on a winter bonfire. New to the event this year are dogsled demonstrations.

Admission costs $3 per person or $12 per family. Children 3 and under get in free. The nature center is located at 1111 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.
