Images: Icons of Wadsworth

My parents lived in Wadsworth for many years and I always loved driving through the tiny, quaint downtown featuring a saddlery shop, a tavern and an antique store and then past a little farm to get to their house in a subdivision with large lots.

The occasional visitor might be lulled into thinking Wadsworth is just an ordinary little town. But, how many small villages have a pyramid, a herd of buffaloes and a restaurant featured on national television? No, this little hamlet in Lake County is far from ordinary.

I spoke with Moses Amidei, village administrator, before heading out to take photos. He said to be sure to get pictures at the Pyramid House on Dilley's Road, which was annexed into Wadsworth this fall. Amidei also suggested taking photos of some local farms, which feature horses, sheep, chickens and even one with buffalo. And I was more than happy to wrap up my assignment with lunch at The Shanty, which has been featured in numerous publications and shows for its great food.
