Tots can ring in 2016 early in Schaumburg

The Schaumburg Park District again will be providing a way for children ages 1 to 6 to ring in the new year long before their bedtimes.

The Itsy Bitsy New Year's Eve Countdown will run from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 31, at The Sport Center, 1141 Irving Park Road in Schaumburg.

Featuring unstructured play activities, the event includes inflatables for climbing and a variety of toys and games. Trikes, big wheels and motorized jeeps also will be available. Little ones will ring in 2016 at noon with a balloon drop.

The early registration cost is $10 per family for residents and $15 per family for non-residents. Day-of registration is $15 per family for residents and $20 per family for non-residents. The first 200 registrants will receive a free noisemaker and lei.
