$100 to help a volunteer make shelter feel like home

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Sharon Walsh of St. Charles.

Here is an excerpt of her story:

"I would give the Believe Envelope to an amazing woman, Donna Dennison, who works at Lazarus House. Donna teaches the women to sew, does craft projects with the children and makes the shelter like a home for all of the guests.

"The $100 would go a long way to help purchase fabric, yarn, buttons, thread and other miscellaneous items for the various projects Donna does out of the kindness of her heart - and at her own expense - for all of the families she comes into contact with."

• The Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else.
