Palatine Dist. 15 board to choose new member Monday

The Palatine Township Elementary School District 15 board will hold a special meeting Monday to interview candidates to fill the seat left empty after Manjula Sriram resigned Nov. 24.

The board will go into closed session to interview the top candidates. The plan is that after making a decision, the new board member would be sworn in during open session.

Superintendent Scott Thompson said Friday the board received 18 applications for the position, which will make it a challenge choosing a new board member Monday night. Board members will each indicate their favorites to Thompson before the meeting to narrow the interview list.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Joseph M. Kiszka Educational Service Center, 580 North 1st Bank Drive.
