Lake Park seeking new school board member

The Lake Park High School board of education is seeking applications for a new member to replace Doug Denson, who served the district since April 2013 before dying unexpectedly about a week ago.

The board is required to appoint a new member by Jan. 20 and whoever is selected will serve until April 2017 when the seat is up for election.

Applicants must be a registered voter, 18 by the date of the appointment; and a resident of the district and state for at least a year preceding the appointment. Applicants also must file a statement of economic interest form with the DuPage County clerk.

Interested candidates should obtain and complete an application, which is available on the district website at www.lphs.org or at the Lake Park High School District 108 administrative offices during office hours from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, and should be addressed to: Barb Layer, board of education president, Lake Park High School District 108, 590 South Medinah Road, Roselle, IL 60172. Mark applications Attention: Board Vacancy.
