Authorities investigating house fire near Glen Ellyn

Authorities are investigating the cause of large structure fire Saturday on the 1S200 block of Mayfield Lane near Glen Ellyn.

Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company Lt. Craig Eldridge said crews responding at 2:36 p.m. to the home near Westfield Elementary School found heavy fire from the garage and second story. Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and kept it from spreading elsewhere in the residence.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
 

Three cars were destroyed and the house heavily damaged, Eldridge said. There were no injuries.

The is being investigated by the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force, the DuPage County sheriff's office and the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company.
