Hanover Township distributes holiday meal boxes

Hanover Township distributed 609 holiday meal boxes last week to qualifying residents for the Thanksgiving holiday.

"Our neighbors stepped up once again to ensure township families were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. "From our high school and senior citizen volunteers passing out the boxes, to the generosity of many individuals, the entire community supported this event."

The November holiday meal box distribution was sponsored by St. John the Evangelist of Streamwood, Kiwanis Club of Streamwood, Streamwood VFW Post 5151, Streamwood Woman's Club and Knights of Columbus Mary's Millennium Council #12801.

The township will distribute December holiday meal boxes at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, at the Hanover Township William Tiknis Campus, 250 S. Route 59, in Bartlett. To receive a meal box, residents will need to provide a valid driver's license or state I.D. along with a Hanover Township Food Pantry card.
