Moves Dance Studio to kick off new Mighty Movers classes for those with special needs

Moves Dance Studio, 736 Butterfield Road in North Aurora, will offer free "Mighty Movers" classes for children and adults with special needs on Saturday, Dec. 5. There will be one class for children, 3 to 11, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Individuals, 12 or older, can attend the one that will run from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.

Taught by Jessica Velemir, an instructor who has studied dance and childhood development, the classes will teach the fundamentals of ballet, hip hop and creative movement through music while also helping students develop self-confidence, body awareness, coordination and musicality.

Students who enroll in Moves' "Mighty Movers" classes will have class each weekend and, in June of next year, they will have the opportunity to perform in Moves' dance recital at Paramount Theatre in Aurora.
