Textbook fee increase

Some student textbook fees for the 2016-17 school year in Libertyville Elementary District 70 will increase slightly for first through fifth grade to include the cost of apps to integrate with textbooks and planners, district officials decided this week. Fees for the upcoming school year, textbook rental fees and supply costs, will be $95 for students in grades first through fifth, which is a $5 more than the $90 charged this year. The $90 for kindergarten and $110 for students in middle school, sixth through eighth grades, will remain the same. Fees cover textbook rentals and technology usage. The school board this past week approved the fee increase, the first in eight years, to help cover increased costs as the district moved into paying registration fees through credit cards.
