Jazz band fundraiser for Honor Flight

Lake County Honor Flight is hosting a fundraiser from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Khayat Lake House, 525 Rockland Road, Lake Bluff. The goal is to fly 23 veterans to Washington, D.C., in April 2016. The event will feature a sextet jazz band led by the great jazz drummer Ron Barron, a Korean War veteran. This group of experienced jazz performers plays to the tunes of Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Frank Sinatra and others. Lake County Honor Flight transports veterans to visit the monuments and memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Admission is $45 per person. Tickets are available at aholidaycelebrationlchf.eventbrite.com, and also will be sold at the door. Call Pam Brooks, event chair, at (847) 282-0374 or visit lakecountyhonorflight.org.
