Library hosts Santa and activities for Very Merry Huntley

For years, the Huntley Area Public Library,11000 Ruth Road, has been the place to be on the first Friday in December for the annual Holiday Open House. Last year, the event became part of the new Very Merry Huntley celebration with a record turnout. This year, in order to streamline the wait time, and for building safety and capacity issues, the library will offer three sessions during the Very Merry Huntley event scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4.

Free tickets are available at the library's information desk and must be picked up in person. All family members who wish to attend will be required to have a ticket to enter. There will be a limit of 200 tickets available per time slot. If you pick up tickets and find that you cannot use them, return them to the library so another family may participate in this traditional community event.

Session times will be 3 to 4:30 p.m., 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Allow enough time to have your photo taken with Santa and participate in all activities this evening, including face painting, entertainment by Dave Gutshall and Andy Huber, a Friends Foundation Book Sale and basket raffle fundraiser, and light refreshments.

Note the library will be closing at 2 p.m. and no library services will be available during the Very Merry Huntley event. Visit www.huntleylibrary.org.
