Beware 'the crowded path' judging Gliniewicz
I read the front page of the Sunday, Nov. 22, Daily Herald with disgust. Filenko disgusts me as well as your staff writers, but as we all know the truth is not what sells. This grand unbelievable story sells plus it is an easy way to call a halt to the "investigation" of this man's murder.
Yes, Lt. Gliniewicz was not without wrongs, but he did do good in his life and for that I am grateful to have known him.
If this man had lived and all of this gossip had to be proven, I truly believe there would be a different outcome. In so many articles, the person giving the information is a "source." This source cannot be named, but their words or surmises are used.
I saw one report from a woman in Ingleside who had gossip to spread, but her face could not be shown. If your face or name cannot be used, you are a cowardly source.
Filenko, Marrin and many others have received much publicity and now, probably praise. It also seems the majority of the public has made an abrupt about-face toward hatred of this man and his family.
He is being shoveled over pretty hard. Of course, he is dead. There is no defense for him. In my knowledge of the Bible and most of the experiences of my life the crowded full path is usually the wrong one.
