initiative in July 2014 to provide start-up companies an affordable space to establish their new businesses. "We are thrilled to see the transformation of the Metra Station into such a creative business, as commuters come in to our City by train," says Mayor Charlie Pecaro. "Kevin and Joel are a wonderfully welcoming team and 3 Barrels Studios has so much to offer."

"3 Barrels Studios is a home for artists, a place to learn, gather, and show art from "all" artists, of "all" skill levels, with "all" media," says Kevin Loesch, Owner/Artist of Superhero for Hire. Plans call for regular art exhibitions, workshop displays, and sharing artists' works in local businesses and vacant storefronts helping to brighten up Highwood's business district and offer free "curb appeal."

Grand opening festivities will kick off at 2pm, coinciding with early school dismissal. Families are invited to come out and "add their two cents" to 3 Barrels Studios Penny Mosaic of Abraham Lincoln that will be donated to CURE, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, is the leading nongovernmental agency fully committed to funding research in epilepsy.

Guests will meet the owners and artists, be invited on studio tours, get temporary 3 Barrels Studios tattoos. There will be plenty of works on display, including a preview of the December 12th Nutcracker and holiday art spectacular. At 6pm guests will enjoy live entertainment by Tom "Soda" Gardocki, as he mesmerizes the audience with sounds from his 12-string electric banjo. Fans say, "there's really nothing quite like a Soda Gardocki show."

"3 Barrels Studios is my dream come true, my home away from home," says Loesch. "When people step in to the Studio we constantly hear how it is their dream bedroom from when they a kid."
