Three Brothers Theatre hosts ' Santa Claus Conquers the Martians'

For its second year in a row, Three Brothers will present "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians."

It runs at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 27 through Dec. 13.

Adapted from the cult classic B-movie, "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" is turning itself into its own Waukegan holiday tradition.

"We've had a terrific year, and I couldn't be happier to return to Mars and the North Pole to finish our season," said Executive Director Josh Beadle.

"We've grown so much this year that it really feels like we've lived a decade in this community in only 365 days. We're looking forward to the excitement of the 2016 season, which will be even bigger. But before we head to the new year we have to share some holiday cheer."

The show will feature Three Brothers ensemble members Brad Paschall, Josh Beadle, Justin Shaffer, Natsha Siri, and is directed by Waukegan theater veteran Jim Neal.

For those not familiar with the story, it takes place on Mars, where Momar and Kimar's children are watching too much Earth television. Now, they decide to kidnap Santa in order to set up a toy factory on Mars.

It's up to young Betty and Billy to help Santa escape from Mars and get back to planet Earth in time to save Christmas.

The theater will also be experimenting with a very special performance the day before Thanksgiving - a Pay What You Want performance is schedule for Nov. 25. Patrons will be able to pay whatever they'd like to see the show.

Three Brothers Theatre is at 115 Genesee St. in Waukegan. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
