Images: Icons of Winfield

No cookie cutter was used to build Winfield.

It's a town that blends a variety of housing stock with the natural beauty of parks and forest preserves and the medical technology that comes with being home to Central DuPage Hospital.

When I set out to photograph some of the coolest places in town, I was truly amazed by how much Winfield has to offer.

One of my favorite places is Creekside Park near downtown. The park's gazebo makes it a delightful place to relax while enjoying the sounds of the babbling brook.

Look for a new "Icons of ..." town gallery every Sunday at dailyherald.com/galleries and on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. On our social media sites, share your favorite Winfield photos with us by using #shareyoursuburb.

And tell us what photos are your favorites. Which ones stir a memory for you? Where do you love to go in town?

In the meantime, here's "Icons of Winfield."
