THE ART CENTER-HIGHLAND PARK INAUGURAL OUToSIDoER ART EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS, KICKING OFF ITS SEASON OF GIVING

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (NOVEMBER 2015) - The Art Center - Highland Park's (TAC) inaugural Out•sid•er Art Event was a huge success with over 100 attendees, raising more than $8,000, on Friday November 13th. The event kicks off TAC's season of giving and annual fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $150,000 in 2016 towards programming and education in the arts.

"Our annual fundraising letter just went out to assist with our scholarship program and operations," says Gabrielle Rousso, Executive Director at TAC. Funds raised go toward bringing fabulous programming to the community and leading arts education - including our exciting new Printmaking Studio!

Out•sid•er Art showcased the unique and exceptional talents of Outsider artists who are generally not part of the traditional artistic establishment. While not classically trained, these outsider artists presented unconventional views of the world with beloved whimsy, edgy and fun works of art.

There were nine pieces of Outsider Art sold at the event by Jacquline Chilow and Gabrielle Rousso both of TAC. Of the six artists exhibiting, multiple works were sold by artists Debo Groover and Mary King.

Hip art lovers of all ages schmoozed with the artists, delighted in the upbeat jazz sounds of David Dallison and Friends and enjoyed sublime bourbon cocktails from Angels Envy Bourbon as well as delicious bites from Barrel Crossing Tap & Grill, Sunset Foods and Highland Pop.
