Imam says ISIS terrorists are monsters, not Islamic

Gliniewicz autopsy documents released

The Lake County coroner's autopsy report on Fox Lake Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz was released on Wednesday and reiterates what officials said earlier this month: that the officer's death was a suicide. Full story.

Lisle man gets 16 years for selling guns to Chicago gang members

Walter Freeman was sentenced to 16 years in prison on Wednesday for selling dozens of guns to Chicago gang members. "(Freeman's) possession and sale of at least 80 weapons directly contributed to the violence that our city faces," Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennie Levin said in the government's sentencing memorandum. "He has victimized the entire Chicago community." Full story.

FBI arrests suspect in Arlington Hts. bank robbery

The FBI announced Wednesday that it arrested an Arlington Heights man suspected of robbing a bank in town last week. John P. Stoessel, 37, of the 300 block of West Tanglewood Drive, is accused of robbing the TCF Bank branch at Jewel-Osco, 440 E. Rand Road, shortly after 10 a.m. Nov. 9. Full story.

Cubs' Arrieta went from a career crossroads to a Cy Young

To appreciate where Cy Young Award winner Jake Arrieta is now in his Cubs career, you really need to think about where that career was when he got to Chicago. When the Cubs obtained Arrieta in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles in July 2013, they sent him right to Class AAA Iowa.
