Diamond Lake Road reopened

Culvert replacement was completed and Diamond Lake Road in Long Grove reopened Tuesday, but repairs to the road itself continue. The road was to have been paved Wednesday, but that has been delayed by weather. The road is open, although motorists will notice bumps approaching and leaving the project area, and a small stretch of rough grooved pavement. Temporary signs alert approaching cars. One-lane conditions with flaggers will also be required for the paving when weather permits, and for some of the final finishing work, such as guardrail installation and clean up. The road was closed in July after a culvert failure led a large section of the pavement to collapse at Indian Creek.
