Award-winning poet Aaron Baker comes to Oakton Nov. 18

Noted poet Aaron Baker will read selections of his work at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, as part of the Chicago Writers Series at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines. Readings are free and open to the public.

Baker's first collection of poems, Mission Work, won the Bakeless Prize in Poetry and the Glasgow Shenandoah Prize for Emerging Writers. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow in Poetry at Stanford University, Baker's poems have been published widely in literary journals. He currently teaches creative writing at Loyola University Chicago.

A reception with light refreshments will follow the reading.
