Apply for vacancy on McHenry Co. zoning board

The McHenry County Board is accepting applications from persons interested in appointment to the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals. Four vacancies are available: one vacancy for a regular member with a term expiring Nov. 16, 2020; one vacancy for a regular member with a term expiring Sept. 1, 2018; one vacancy for an alternate member with a term expiring on Dec. 15, 2018; and one vacancy for an alternate member with a term expiring on Dec. 15, 2017.

Applicants must reside in one of the following townships: Algonquin, Chemung, Greenwood, Hebron, Burton, Dunham, Hartland, Marengo, Seneca, Riley, Coral and Grafton. No two members of the McHenry County Zoning Board of Appeals may be from the same township.

The zoning board of appeals typically conducts public hearings and voting meetings Thursday afternoons. Meetings typically last one to three hours. zoning board of appeals members are provided a per diem of $110 for each meeting day.

Application forms, along with the zoning board of appeals supplemental application, are available at the County Board Office, Room 209, McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock, (815) 334-4221) or at the county's website www.co.mchenry.il.us.

Completed applications should be returned to the county board office no later than 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
