2015 Hoffman Estates Jaycees Best Pizza Contest winners announced

The Hoffman Estates Jaycees held its annual Best Pizza Contest on November 5th at the Schaumburg Township Hall. Nine area restaurants participated and the winners were determined by attendee votes.

• Pan/Thick crust pizza: Winner-Pizzeria UNO Bar & Grill sausage pizza; Runner-up-Moretti's asiago stuffed crust cheese pizza.

• Thin crust pizza: Winner-Jet's Pizza BBQ chicken pizza; Runner Up- Pinstripes' barbeque chicken pizza.

• Specialty pizza: Winner- Pizzeria UNO Bar & Grill's pepperoni pizza; Runner Up- Pinstripes' prosciutto fig flatbread

The Hoffman Estates Jaycees would like to thank all the participating restaurants:California Pizza Kitchen in Schaumburg; Georgio's Chicago Pizzeria & Pub in South Barrington; Jets Pizza in Schaumburg; Moretti's Ristorante & Pizzeria in Schaumburg; Pinstripes in South Barrington; Riccardo's Ristorante in Schaumburg; Rosati's Pizza in Schaumburg; UNO Pizzeria & Grill in Schaumburg; and Wa-Pa-Ghetti's Pizza in Wheeling.

In addition, the Hoffman Estates Jaycees would like to thank the community for their attendance and support, the volunteers, and the Schaumburg Township for allowing the Jaycees to use the space. More than 100 people showed up to support the event this year.

"This is the 15th year of the Jaycees Best Pizza Contest," said Hoffman Estates Jaycees President Keith Colgrove. "This is a fun community event that gets local businesses and public involved to support the Jaycees."

The Hoffman Estates Jaycees is a civic organization that provides individuals between the age of 21 and 40 the opportunity to network and develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community. The Hoffman Estates chapter is always looking for new members interested in being young active citizens. The Hoffman Estates Jaycees meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall Training Room located at 1900 Hassell Road.
