1. Big gamers:

Playing a sixth semifinal in eight years, Glenbard West advanced to its third title game in seven years with a 21-6 win over Cary-Grove. The Hilltoppers face Libertyville in the Class 7A final.

2. You again?:

Montini's thrilling 35-27 semifinal win in Class 6A places the Broncos in the state title game for the seventh straight year. They'll play Crete-Monee with a sixth championship in three different classes at stake.

3. Thank you:

Kudos to the army of workers who helped make the games run as smoothly as possible in difficult weather conditions. A special thank you to the folks who helped plow, shovel and sweep the snowy fields.
