Enjoy Illinois Brass Band's Holiday Classics Concert Dec. 19

Celebrate Christmas at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church as music director Stephen Squires and the Illinois Brass Band present "Holiday Classics" at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19.

The program will feature glorious music of the season. The sanctuary will come alive as 30 of the area's finest brass players fill the air with the sounds of this "Most Wonderful Time of the Year." With a cheerful mix of traditional carols, holiday classics, and jazzy updates of Christmas favorites, it will be an evening that will put the entire family in the holiday spirit. The program will feature major works for brass band by composer and arranger Andrew Wainwright as well as the premier performance of the brass band setting of the exciting "Festival Fanfare for Christmas" by composer John Wasson.

The Illinois Brass Band is a six-time national champion of the North American Brass Band Association. The band is in its 24th year.

Tickets are available in advance at illinoisbrassband.org or at the door on the day of the performance.

Tickets are $12, $6 for youth, 18 and younger, or $30 for family (two adults and up to four youth, age 18 and under).

The concert will be in the sanctuary of the historic Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in downtown St. Charles.
